Last night right before I went to bed, I suddenly knew I HAD to have steel cut oats the next day for breakfast. I googled a crock pot recipe for steel cut oats and found a great one on a cute blog called The Skinny Fork. I whipped it up in about 7 minutes and awoke the next morning to piping hot oatmeal ready to scoop out and eat – immediately. How amazing is that. Did not even need to heat it up. I would use a bit less liquid than she recommends. Maybe only 3.5 cups of water rather than 4 – other than that it was fab. I added more cut up fruit and cinnamon, almonds, chia seeds and a splash of milk. Can’t wait to have it again tomorrow morning. Of course this time I will have to heat it up first!
