Our client is blessed with a stunning view into her backyard from her large family room. She wanted to keep the solid orange curtains and use them as a springboard to refreshing the room. Her vision paired the orange with an indigo blue, while keeping the focal point on the large windows, which the previous furniture didn’t do.
We started with the new rug, which kicks up the style quotient, and paired it with a sofa slipcovered in family-friendly Sunbrella fabric. We added a pair of swivel leather chairs in brown leather (psst .. they recline!) and some round end tables with rustic copper tops. The client added some of her own lamps and we added another, so the room isn’t too matchy. She also used a table from elsewhere in the home and applied chalk paint to the top. Finally, we replaced the large leather ottoman with a pair of x-ottomans. They can be moved around or used as extra perches when lots of people are milling around!
