A shed transformed into a playhouse? Yes, please! This has been a really fun project for us and all the neighborhood kids are enjoying the new play space.
First up, we had to clean out the shed! That was the easy part. Then we figured out how to run electrical into the space, so the kids could have light and a radio. Then, we brought fun stuff in — all items we had around the house. An extra table and chairs, a dollhouse, and a bunch of framed art that we’d moved around over the years. It’s still a work in progress but getting lots of use!
The guy that built our shed anticipated our wish for a play space for our kids and made a little secret door on the side.
I had an old Pottery Barn Kids rug that fit almost exactly. I also found an old pine tv stand off a neighborhood email list for free, and it’s great for elevating the dollhouse off the floor and also providing another level of storage.
Lots of space here for creativity and art making! The last phase will be to paint the door — we are considering turquoise.
