Our clients have a spacious addition on the back of their house, but when they purchased the house, they realized that their existing dining room table was dwarfed in the space and didn’t provide enough seating for their family. They also wanted to replace the existing carpet. A new built-in bench (with storage!) spans the entire width of the room under the 4 windows that face the backyard. We chose a new paint color (Metallic Silver by Benjamin Moore … it’s not metallic at all, just a pretty soft grey), and purchased a gorgeous solid maple table from Bassett Furniture, with 4 chairs to match. The ceiling fan was replaced with a trio of orb-style chandeliers, which create a beautiful glow by night and add a fun design element. Of course, the new wood floors are stunning as well.
