This has been such a fun project! We’ve taken this room from dullsville to high glamour, with lots of function to go along with it.
Our client wanted a space to watch tv and enjoy the fire, while being able to entertain friends and perhaps take the party outside to the beautiful adjacent patio just beyond the French doors.
She fell in love with this bar from Arhaus Furniture, and wanted it be the jumping off point for the room.
But first, we had to work around the challenging space constraints of the room, which is only 12 feet across. It also had several doors along the longest wall, which made furniture placement a bit tricky. The good news is that we were able to eliminate 2 of the door openings. One opened up to an old wet bar and cabinet that she was no longer using. We had the plumbing capped off, then our painter drywalled over the opening. The other door led to the utility closet, but there was another access point from a hallway, so we were able to close that up as well.
The mantel was removed from the fireplace, then all the bricks and trim got a fresh coat of Simply White by Benjamin Moore. The walls are painted in Grey Horse by Ben Moore. It’s a beautiful grey.
She wanted lots of color in the room, so we did a custom rug with FLOR carpet tiles. We added a trim 8-foot sectional with some fun pillows. We really like the little drink tables that are lightweight and can be moved around easily.
Lastly, we added two ceiling mount classic drum shade fixtures to spread light around the room.
The final effect? Stunning with a decidedly female flair!
