We love this kitchen makeover! Our clients made some great updates and completely changed the feel of their kitchen, without adding any square footage at all. In the process, they were able to take their new cabinets right up to the ceiling and chose beautiful trim, counters, and backsplash tile to really elevate the “wow” factor.
They replaced the existing oak cabinetry with a combination of white and dark cabinets — white for around the perimeter and dark for the bar area and the island. They chose a beautiful edging detail for their new countertop, and added a pair of stylist pendants over the island. Our favorite aspect of their new kitchen is the tile selected for the backsplash — a greige subway tile at the sink area and a metallic ogee tile for the bar. Fantastic!
Here’s some “in progress” pictures as a comparison. You can see the remains of the old soffit above the refrigerator. The contractor took good care of the existing wood floors during construction, and you can see how the 2 of the existing recessed lights were replaced with the new pair of pendants over the island.
This picture shows the new cabinet samples against the old granite countertop, prior to construction.
