This study was completely conjured from the homeowner’s vision! She wanted a space for her husband to comfortably work and relax, with touches that relate to the rest of the house, and lots of spots for others to pop in and feel right at home. We started with the rug, then added the sofa, the custom-made desk, and a few modern file cabinets. We scored the pair of swivel chairs, which allow for lots of perspectives! Finally, she added personal art and other touches.
The paint color (Newburyport Blue by Benjamin Moore) was actually picked last. It’s easy to pick paint once you have the other elements selected for a room, and we often advise clients to make this selection near the end of the process. Many paint colors exist, and so it’s easy to find one that works with your existing elements.
Here’s a few images of the space before we got started!
