Our client’s wish? An elegant and updated space where she can host dinners for friends and family. She had used a vintage Lucite-topped desk for many years as a dining table, but it wasn’t practical for larger groups of people and wasn’t the right scale for her new dining room space. She also wanted a rug that was visually interesting, yet didn’t compete with her favorite collection of art. We found a beautiful glass table, which is kind of like a rectangle, but bows out gracefully in the middle. Plenty of leg room around a sleek wood and modern base. She kept the same chairs, but had them recovered in aubergine leather-look vinyl. Lovely for dinner parties with adults, and durable for casual brunch with the grandchildren! She also found a wonderful Ikat rug at West Elm that looks gorgeous in the room.
