This has been a great transformation to add character to a newly built home.  And it’s still in progress, so we will update once the rest of the furniture and accessories arrive.

To start, our homeowner had a blank slate!  Just a gas fireplace, with wiring in place for a television.

We collaborated with the family on what they wanted in the space and how to incorporate new and old together.  First, the bookcases went in, and they look like they’ve always been there.  Crown molding and baseboards wrap around for a seamless look.

Then the new beam went in as a mantel.  It is originally from an old farmhouse and we love how it adds character to the space.

 

Here’s a sneak peak at the new rug (with the old furniture!).  Can’t wait to complete the project!!
