Before/After :: Teen Room Refresh Part Two

On Tuesday, we showed the results of one of the rooms that were transformed to give a pair of teens a pair of updated rooms. Here are the results from the other room. We changed the window treatments to simple modern classic shades, and had them constructed so they can be opened from the top or the bottom. The paint colors are very saturated, but chosen specifically by the teen. Classic storage pieces from Ikea were used alongside an existing chest of drawers and a new unique desk.

The large white wall unit was also removed. Many of the toys were curated or donated. We found this unique desk at Nadeau Furniture in Alexandria, and knew it would be just the right size and style for this room.

And indeed, it looks fantastic in the room. We need to find an equally cool chair to pair with it. It’s great under the window, and its simple design lets the colors in the room shine! Still lots of details to work with, such as art and treasured items in the room, but all are pleased with the results.

Jen and Anne were so much fun to work with. My living room and office/exercise area really needed a refresh. Trying to figure out what to do was completely overwhelming for me until Jen and Anne were recommended. They really listened to what I was aiming to accomplish and provided thoughtful suggestions and new ideas that I NEVER would have thought of. Jen and Anne were amazing! They listened well to get a good understanding of my needs and style and then came up with great ideas and designs. Their use of Pinterest boards made is super easy to exchange ideas. Jen would also text me photos if she happened to be at a store and saw something I may like/need. They provided fresh and innovative ideas where I had no clue, helped guide me where I already had views, and were great sounding boards where I was unsure (and they often would bounce ideas off of one other, resulting in a great final product).
